October, 2010

This month, Zach really got the hang of rolling, and by the end of the month he could push himself up from his tummy to his bottom. He cut his number 5 tooth, so now has 3 on the bottom and two on the top. He finally recovered from the Winter colds, after two lots of antibiotics. He also shows a distinct lack of respect for conventional chair use.

He spotted a new, strange brightness outside, and discovered 'grass'.

He got comfy in his larger car seat (that should last until he's 7, with any luck)

He learned the meaning of "Leave your hat on!"...

...and also "Want a swing?"

hehehe.

September, 2010

September was the month of germs for the Rankin household, and Zach probably got the worst of it, since he needed antibiotics from the doctor. He scored the highest temp, vomited the most, and kept us awake with his awful coughing. But he's still the happiest little babe you could imagine, and has been clapping and laughing all month long. He's eating chewable things like biscuits and bread crusts, and has a top left tooth to play with.

Hell- O!

I cut my own sandwiches... with a chainsaw!

August 2010

This month Zach mastered rolling onto his side, and sitting up unsteadily for quite a while. He rolled once from his back to stomach, and once the other way, but has shown no further interest in rolling at all! He's very affectionate and likes to hold your face and give very sloppy kisses. He now has two sharp teeth sticking up: the bottom front left and the one that's two to the right of that one. Like unbalanced crazy fangs! He is extremely well-entertained by his older brother and sister, especially when they are in trouble. Just as well, too, as he gets a bit neglected when Mum spends all her time growling at the two- and three-year-olds. It seems to balance out, and he's a very happy baby.

July, 2010

Can lift his butt when lying on his back, but not interested in rolling further than his side. Growing growing growing! Got a new baby cousin who was at one point 2.5kg at the same time he was 10.1. He's good at picking things up, and continues to LOVE food.

June 2010

In spite of his healthy weight, he has taken to baby porridge as though we've been starving him. He was having a few teaspoons at the start of the month, and probably 4 or 5 tablespoons by the end. He's gripping things better and putting them in his mouth. He's practising sounds (the growling was funny). He says umumum, and has a high-pitched squeal when he sees something exciting. Big brother, Byron, says, "Aren't you a cute little vegemite boy... aren't you, aren't you?", probably after hearing me call him a "happy little vegemite" once. He's a very laid back baby, and really only cries when he's hungry or tired. He occasionally sleeps from 7 to 7, but mostly wakes up once for a drink. He's sleeping in the portacot (Jasmine's still in the cot) and he's realized the hard mesh on the side makes a fun scratchy noise... we hear him in the middle of the night :D

May, 2010

Look at those big blue eyes Ü

This month he has been chatting and giggling. His sister discovered it was hilarious to scare him and make him cry, but that fun game is being stamped out by M&D. He's also learned to grab and pull her hair Ü
.
His weight on May 13 was 8.265, which is just above the 97th percentile. He knows he has a few kilos to put on to catch up with the siblings (about 6 more) and he's trying hard. He comes to playgroup, and sits up in the pram, watching everything intently.
.
He got a cough in the middle of the month, which is still going as I write this (over a month later) but is otherwise very healthy. He's even trying to do situps sometimes, and prefers to be propped up than laying on his back.
.
He's sleeping pretty well. He's ready for bed by 7pm, and usually just wakes up once (about 4 or 5am) for a new nappy and a bottle. Sometimes (if it's not too noisy) he'll have a decent hour in the morning, and then a few more after lunch. He's a pretty laid-back little thing!

April, 2010

April: He loves to have a chat and a grin. He's ticklish, but hasn't worked out giggling just yet. He's grasping things better, and occassionally getting them near his mouth (but it's easier just to suck on your fingers). His weight at 10 weeks was 7.07kg (>97th) and he had injections on the 7th. He did not approve! He's outgrown his little bouncy chair already!

February

Sleeping on Grandma C's couch. He's growing so fast we one day won't believe he could ever fit his whole length on one cushion!

Big dark blue eyes

Tolerating Mummy's knitting with good grace (so far Ü)
.

Bought him a new chair to sit in, as the other one (which was second hand to begin with) was a bit wrecked by the older two.
.

Yes, but he doesn't very often. Most laid-back baby ever.
.

Theo (as opposed to Teddy), as he's from my brother and family (in Bible College). lol.
.

More knitting. Yawn.
